Estuve leyendo esto y me pareció piola crear un foro para que todos puedan decir cuáles son los soft Gratis que les parecen mejores o Indispensables así fomentamos lo que tanto nos gusta (lo gratis) y quien te dice bajamos la pirateria, después de todo lo que se habló acá sonbre eso.

5. The next two on the list are limited free versions of commercial virtual instruments. Sampletank Free is a super high quality sampler. The free version has a limited number of instruments, but it still is a great addition to any studio until you can afford the full version. Available at Sampletank.com
4. Plugsound free is another virtual Sample based Synth thatalso has a limited number of instruments but they're good ones. Check it out at Usbsounds.com.
3. The best completely free virtual synth avaiable is called Crystal from Green Oak Software and it is as powerful as any soft synth out there. And it's available as a VST or an AU plug-in. Download it from http://www.greenoak.com.
2. Audacity is one of the best audio editors available for OSX (also Unix and Windoze) and it's free. Don't hesitate, you NEED this program. Download the latest version from sourceforge.net.

Buen posteo. Coincido con el primero lugar de Hyper Engine AV.
Aprovecho de pasar el aviso, si alguien conoce un software free (OSX) para ripear DVDs, que postee el dato.

para ripear dvds,bajate el Mac the Ripper ,o DVD Backup .
para aclarar uno de los top tens,el room machine no es una reverb ,es un procesador de early reflections ,sin duda es un plug muy util.
tambien recomiendo el Ambience,es una reverb muy grosa ,y es un shareware(donation ware) que no vence.

Gracias por el dato deegone
Estuve dando vueltas a este post a ver si se me ocurria otro freebie de audio gratias, pero todos son cuestionables. Las versiones Lite de Live que vienen con los productos Maudio podrian ser algunas.
Otra que si encuentro MUY util -que no es de audio especificamente pero que me ha permitido trabajar mejor y sacarle el jugo a mi humilde iBook- es una que deben conocer y que se llama Screen Spanning Doctor. Esta apli permite conectarle otra pantalla al laptop y dividir tu escritorio en dos, no como originalmente vienen los iBook, que solo puede espejar. Con esto puedes -por ejemplo- trabajar con Live en una y con un editor de audio en otra. Permite resoluciones de hasta 1600x1200. Y es free.

gente les hago una pregunta, soy músico y productor y estoy a punto de comprarme una powerbook y quiero adosarle el live. Uds saben si existe alguna manera de conseguirlo sin comprarlo y que tal funciona. ya que me dijeron que tiene un bug que si lo conectas a internet se cuelga. Bueno desde ya muchas gracias y espero pronto pertenecer al club de maqueros.

no podemos hablar de soft pirata.
si por alguna razon pensas que conectarte al internet te puede traer algun problema,baja e instala el 'Little Snitch' ,es un programa que te informa y permite filtrar tareas,o sea podes ver que aplicacion se esta conectando con internet,y podes bloquearla.
