El Oscar, Omnisphere y un Argentino

"Have to share one really special Oscar moment of pride for our little team here at Spectrasonics:

One of our primary staff members - Ignacio Longo, who is from Argentina - was one of the composers of the score for the Academy Award-winning Best Foreign Language Film from Argentina: "El Secreto de sus Ojos".

Ignacio is a super talented composer and a brilliant sound designer (he's one of the primary sound designers of Omnisphere) - and he's now our first staff member to have composed music for an Oscar-winning film! We are super proud of him.

Pretty cool, eh?"

"Ignacio went from Buenos Aires to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

He is an interesting combination of dedicated classical pianist and electronica producer. For us, he has the ideal combination of a strong musical background, a strong technical background and also very passionate about synths.

In 2005, he applied for an opening we had on the Sound DEV team and had a strong recommendation from my friend David Mash - who is a professor emeritus at Berklee.

Now we are so fortunate to have him as a key part of the Spectrasonics Team. He lives here in Burbank, not far from our headquarters and has been heavily involved in every product's development since RMX 1.5.

Do a search by Author in any of Omnisphere's Browsers and you'll get an idea of how much he has contributed to the instrument!
