BIOGRAPHY CHRIS TIETJEN
Chris Tietjen was born in Cannes (France) on October 17th 1985; in the year 2000, he discovered the world of electronic music.
Inspired by Sven Väth, it didn't take long until he bought his first set of decks. His growing passion for music of all kinds took him to Ibiza in summer 2002, where he joined one of Sven's private after hours and had ? by chance ? the opportunity to play some records and left a lasting impression.
During 2003, his need to present his skills to music lovers made him play at many private parties in the local area. He had great success and the number of fans grew.
In 2004, he started to play in clubs in Frankfurt, such as U-BAR (U60311), Type Club or Stereobar. His first peak in this year was the opening set in the Cocoon Tent at Nature One.
The invitation to play at the Main Room of the CocoonClub Frankfurt together with Sven Väth and ingo Boss came in 2005. This was both a great honour and challenge for Chris. And that wasn't the last time he played at Cocoon. In July 2005, the "next generation" parties started and Chris had been chosen to be the host of this evening, where young talents have the chance to present their skills to a big audience in a professional club.
Besides that, he got the chance to play the warm up set at Cocoon's Open Air party Green & Blue.
2006 is an amazing year for Chris. At the beginning of the year, he becomes part of Cocoon Booking's roster ? an event that seems like an accolade for him and that was the basis for many things that happened in this year.
Sven Väth started his world tour in February and decided to make Chris his warm up DJ at several dates, among them the Kristallclub in Romania, the Clubber's Day in Madrid and the legendary Florida 135 in Fraga / Spain.
Right after this tour, Chris started to work on his very first Mix-CD. Its name is 'EINS' and it is a brillantly mixed collection of the best 12"es released between 2000 and 2005 on Cocoon Recordings. Release date was May 2005.
Besides that, he acquired another regular night in addition to the Next Generation party ? MICROMIZED, a night at the Micro ClubRestaurant at CocoonClub Frankfurt, together with Ingo Boss. Here, one can discover the strongly distinct deeper side of the two, leaving nothing to be desired between hypnotic minimal sounds and groovy deep house. This is also a reason for the night's huge popularity.
In the summertime, Chris played almost every noteworthy event like LoveFamilyPark, Greenfields, SonneMondSterne, Nature One or Mysteryland, of course also at Cocoon's Green&Blue party.
However, the highlight of the season was Ibiza, where he has mixed the teaser CD for the CocoonClub Ibiza parties, in connection with a booking at CocoonClub Amnesia.
Chris Tietjen's style alternates between groovy tech house and hypnotic minimal sounds, but one can also find driving techno tunes in his record case. However, his sound is not easy to describe, and his sets are always full of surprises and guarantee many hours of frenzy.
