[REVIEW CD] John O Callaghan - Never Fade Away

New Album release date: May 16th
The album is finally finished..... :-)


With all the music and paperwork finally completed, John O'Callaghan is
delighted to announce his 2nd artist album "Never Fade Away" will be
released on May 16th, through Armada Records Holland. Comprising of 12
tracks, John is happy to be finally finished the 14 month long project:


"Listening back to the album now that it is finished, I'm delighted
with the final result. I realise now that each track really offers
something different as there is so many different styles on the album.
Spending so long on the album, I went through different phases of
production styles and enjoying particular ideas, that's why I think the
tracks offer such a variety of sounds and atmospheres.


The 2nd single is one I am really excited about. Right now we are
waiting on the remix of Cosmic Gate, but the original mix has already
been destroying clubs when I tested it out. I also think it has great
crossover appeal and hopefully that could lead to more radio play. For
the purer trance fans there will be of course be an uplifting mix - and
the Cosmic Gate remix should cover the big room aspect. The original is
most definitely the "album version" as this is what the song sounds
best as, with the original sounds and melodies created by myself and
Sarah Howells."



We also asked John, what are your other favourites?


"To be honest I really like all of them, but for different reasons.
Club wise - "Broken" is really getting huge reactions. I wanted at
least 1 track on the album to have my tech-infused style that I am
somewhat known for. And on the other hand, the album title track "Never
Fade Away" for me holds special meaning. I wrote that track as a
completely instrumental ambient piece which is really calming, and with
the soft vocals on top - it just brough out the soul of the song even
more. Another big one club wise right now is "Don't Look Back", where I
tried a more old-skool trance sound. I tried to make that as simple as
I could with some classic sounds, but the effect seems to have worked
in the final track. I really can't wait for the release!"

Por cierto.. broken fue el que mas me gusto de lo que escuche.

Los temas del nuevo disco que subió a myspace me gustaron: Through the light, Broken (lo puso en la TE) y el que hizo con Aly & Fila (Megalithic). Aunque me pasa lo mismo que con lo último que viene saliendo, no me parece nada del otro mundo.

Respecto a Surreal apenas lo escuché me pareció muy malo, una copia aún más berreta de Big Sky, pero ahora que lo escuché varias veces y con más atención debo reconocer que me gusta :P Aunque creo que está pidiendo un remix a gritos (un dub no le vendría mal tampoco).

Estuve escuchando lo que esta en el Space y me gusto mucho. Por lo que suena, estuve viendo que el disco viene con sonido variado. Como lo dice él mismo.

Me gusta mucho como productor y tambien tocando en vivo. Asi que realmente espero con ansias el disco.

Lo que subio de preview me gusto. Y se que no va a defraudar.

A esperar se ha dicho. Falta tantoo!! jejeje

Creo que se viene un lindo sucesor de 'Something to live for'

Disco para tener en cuenta. A simple vista...hay track`s q tengo ganas de escucharlos, como x ej lo q hizo junto a Ottaviani/Colontonio. Tb escuchar las vocales de Lo-Fi Sugar (Castaway (L)). En cuanto a la produccion q hizo junto a los egipcios, sigo manteniendo q es una muy buena produccion; si el arranq violento q èste tiene se extenderia un poco màs seria excelente (a gusto personal)

Lo acabo de escuchar de punta a punta. Un trabajo sobresaliente, muy variado, con vocals relajantes(Every Lesson Learned / Take It All Away), touchs bien up (Broken)y co-producciones terribles (Liquid Fire / Megalithic) sin dudas unos de los CD-Album del año. **** 1/2 (nada es perfecto, por eso no le doy 5*)

Tambien hay un bonus track. una nueva version de Big Sky (Joint Operations Centre Remix) medio-medio, como de relleno digamos. Obviamente, prefiero el Agnelli & Nelson ReMix.

Coincido contigo Agus, a mí gusto, está por encima del resto de los tracks del álbum (L)

Through the ligth es el que mas me gusta y luego Broken...
Me gusto el CD por ahi abuso un toque con vocals pero bue..

Broken y nada más para mi, el resto es más de lo mismo, pero bueno, es lo que vende hoy en día.. así que bien por él!

Disco tristísimo.... Como dijeron todos Broken es el mejor de los temas, el resto apesta.
