The single topped the charts worldwide and has simultaneously topped the UK (where it topped the chart at number one for ten consecutive weeks and is currently the biggest song of 2007 so far) Canadian, Irish, German, Slovakian, United States, Australian, New Zealand, Polish, Austrian, Spanish, Belgian, Norwegian and Swiss charts, along with the United World Chart. It won Video of the Year and Monster Single of the Year at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.
