The Contest Process
As opposed to how the 2007 contest was conducted, this year Crystal Clouds will not be holding a public vote until after a group of finalists is chosen.
This means that any entries made to the contest will initially be reviewed by a select panel of Crystal Clouds administrators and DJs alike.
After careful consideration the Crystal Clouds panel will then choose a certain amount (depending on the number of total entries) of finalists to be put forward for the public to download and vote on and thus decide who they want the finalist of the contest to be.
The idea behind this is that it enables Crystal Clouds to narrow the entries down to the ones that are technically the best and then let
the public vote on them, rather than the other way - where in the past problems have occured with cheating.
The Crystal Clouds panel will be judging the mixes using a points system based on the following (where a higher score is better):
1. Mixing Technique (1-10)
2. Music Selection (1-10)
3. Track Placement (1-10)
4. Overall Flow (1-10)
5. Re-playability Factor (1-5)
6. Atmosphere Acheived (1-5)
7. Originality (1-5)
(Total Pts Available: 55)
This judgment stage will finish on the 14th of May 2008. The public vote will start 2 days later on the 16th of May 2008 and will end on the 7th of June 2008. The overall winners will then be announced and prizes issued as required shortly after.

If you wish to find out more about the Crystal Clouds 2008 "All Genre's" DJ Contest, feel free to email djcontest2008@crystalclouds.com!
All entries that are made to the contest will receive a reply from Crystal Clouds to verify the entry has been received only. Thus if you receive no
reply within 48 hours, please contact Crystal Clouds again to make sure your email has been received.
The 2008 "Fuzzy" approach whereby no specific number of finalists is given and no judges are announced is designed to make the contest
fair for any amount of entries received and keep judges from receiving some "outside" influence. This way, Crystal Clouds could receive 100 total entries and announce that 10 of these can be finalists, as opposed to having a fixed value like 5 finalists.
